On April 14, in celebration of the Mother Language Day, within the framework of Kutaisi UNESCO City of Literature events, the winners of the calligraphy competition organized by the city hall were awarded.
Along with the winners, a certificate of appreciation was given to Nino Turkia, a teacher of Georgian language and literature of Ioseb Otkheli N2 public school in Kutaisi, who rewrited in old Asomtavruli alphabet the famous Georgian poem of middle ages “The Knight in the Panther Skin”.
More than 100 calligraphers from Kutaisi of different ages took part in the competition.
